Trai guidelines for sms based services

As per TRAI guidelines, SMS’s must be sent according to the following alphanumeric format: XY-SenderName, where X refers to the service provider and Y refers to the service area.

If you receive an SMS from AD-MEDIANAMA, that means that the SMS has been sent by MEDIANAMA, originating on Airtel’s network, from the Delhi service area. The codes mandated by TRAI are as follows:

  4. If I subscribe any of the service(by mistake), then how to STOP that service. I am a MTNL, Mumbai TRUMP user and want to STOP 54646 – Hungama / Virtual Marketing service, Where and what SMS I send?

    Then wait for some days, even if you are getting unwanted msgs then contact hungama.org to remove your number from their database.
